Joseph Schmidt Appointed Principal of Watchung

Dear Staff, Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers:

It is my pleasure to announce that Mr. Joseph Schmidt has been appointed principal of Watchung School, effective August 1, 2012.

Mr. Schmidt joins us having served as a principal and curriculum supervisor in Morristown. He has extensive experience in leading a magnet school and has deep knowledge of curriculum. He is a trained reading recovery teacher and has developed mentoring programs for new teachers.

Mr. Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from St. Peter’s College.

He resides in Bedminster with his wife and three children.

Mr. Schmidt is arranging to visit Watchung in the next few days. I trust you will join me in congratulating Mr. Schmidt as he assumes the helm at Watchung School.
