Montclair families can enjoy some relaxing time together on Wednesday, September 12 on the second annual, district-wide “Family Night.” There will be no homework, sports or after-school activities scheduled.
Family Night, a cooperative effort by the Montclair PTA Council and the Board of Education began last year with a proposal from Mary Emanuelli, Council co-chair and former Bullock School PTA president, who thought having an official night off would relieve some of the daily stress and pressures for families — at least for one day.
Central Office administrators once again worked with the Principals, Assistant Principals and Montclair High School's Athletic Director to revise and rework a host of activities and events in the school calendar.
“It takes a lot of coordination to make this happen,” said Dr. Felice Harrison, Assistant to the Superintendent, “but it is well worth the effort to give families this opportunity to spend quality time together.”
