When can I register my
child for kindergarten?
Open
registration takes place in March, usually in the second
week of the month. During Open Registration week, the Board
of Education building at 22 Valley Road is open between
1:00 and 8:30 p.m. (1:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Friday.) After Open Registration Week, parents
can register their children during regular Board of Education
hours.

No, registration must be done in person.

How old does my child have to be
at the time of registration?
He
or she must be 5 years old by October 1 to enter kindergarten.

What forms will I need to register
my child for school?
Registration
forms are available at 22 Valley Road. Registration must
be done in person. Immunization records and a completed
health history form are required for registration. Also
needed are a birth certificate and four proofs of residency.

Will I need to bring my child
in to see a school nurse before I register him/her?
No
child can start school without clearance from a school nurse.
School nurses are present during Open Registration week
in March. If registration takes place after Open Registration
week, the parent must make an appointment with a school
nurse to review health forms. The child does not have to
be present at this appointment.
