The Montclair Public Schools will be hosting a series of roundtable meetings dedicated to World Language education in Montclair's K-5 schools. The first session will take place on Wed., Dec. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the George Inness Annex. Click here for details.

Montclair High School's School of Visual and Performing Arts presents Showcase 2014: Rockin' Out, a rock musical revue this weekend. Performances will take place in the George Inness Annex, Dec. 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased in advance online or at the box office on performance days.
The Montclair Board of Education has scheduled the location of
the following Board Oversight meetings to be held in the Atrium of the George
Inness Annex, 141 Park Street. These meetings will open in public at 7:00 pm.

Two meetings have now been held to introduce parents to Common Core State Standards. See the handout and general introduction provided to parents of elementary students, and the handout and general introduction given to middle school parents. There will be a workshop for high school parents on Wed., Dec. 4.
The majority of the CCSS curriculum units for Periods 2 and 3 are now available for parents and students. Go to District/ Academics in the navigation bar at left, and select the CCSS page for elementary, middle, or high school to see what topics will be covered.
All members of Montclair’s educational community are encouraged to complete a brief survey regarding K-5 World Language Instruction. You may request a hard copy of this survey by contacting the Academic Office at 973-509-4030.
The Board of Education meeting of Nov. 18 can be viewed online. It will also air on TV34 and FIOS33 Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 9:30 p.m.
Introducing Online Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals. This year, families can complete the Meal Application for their household by applying safely and securely online. Families can also apply by completing the traditional paper application, available from the Business Office.
