Mount Hebron science teachers believe that the best way to learn is by having fun while exploring the world around. Students study concepts and apply them to everyday occurrences. A variety of teaching approaches are used in the science classroom such as discovery, inquiry, constructivism.

 

 

7th grade Space Science Unit.  Building rocket ships out of recycled materials.

 

 

 

 

6th grade Diversity of Living Things Unit.  growing microorganisms.  Preface to a video conferencing session with St. Joe's Hospital in which the students are interacting with laboratory staff in real time via a polycom system to identify gram positive and negative bacteria gromn in agar plates, concluding which type of bacteria it is using a flow chart system, and selecting the proper anitbiotic needed to fight an infection caused by this type of bacteria.
