The New Jersey Chapter of the American Anorexia/Bulimia Association now has a support group in Essex County at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. The eating disorder support groups will be held on the second Sunday morning of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, in the Main Building of the Hospital. The new AABA site offers concurrent support groups for individuals seeking help with their eating disorders and for their family members and friends. The groups will be lead by licensed mental health practitioners and registered dietitians with an expertise in treating eating disorders, as well as by recovered leaders. This practice offers assessment and treatment for the full range of eating disorders - anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating and body image concerns. The initial consultation can include individual and family interviews. The INNER IMAGE PROGRAM offers adolescent and adult groups for the recovery of eating and body image problems. The INNER IMAGE group programs involve 3 group components: supportive therapy groups, nutritional counseling by a registered dietitian, and body image groups that incorporate movement and art therapy as a healing tool.
