Parents/Guardians will be required to submit residency verification documents in accordance with the registration process of the Montclair Public Schools.
This process is being enacted under the district policy P-5122 in an effort to update, verify, and document the residency of all students moving from grade eight into grade nine.
Your child’s initial pre-populated application form for the re-registration process will be sent home to you from your child’s middle school, on June 13 & 14, 2018. Please make any corrections on the form before you come in for re-registration.
This information is also available on the website at www.montclair.k12.nj.us, under the Announcements section.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Parents must bring ALL of the required documents for re-registration to Montclair High School. Students will only be re-registered if all of the required documents are completed. Students will not be allowed to attend school in September 2018, until the re-registration is complete.
Please be reminded that only students of families residing in Montclair are eligible to attend the Montclair Public Schools. The Montclair School District is not a “district of choice” under the New Jersey State Legislative bill (A-355).
Individuals who falsify documents shall be subject to all applicable fines, tuition, attorney and court fees/cost, and all other fees, should non-residency be determined.
A process is in place to follow up with all parents/students who have not verified their residency through the re-registration process, which includes visitation to the current/last residence on file.
Please make arrangements now, in planning for re-registration of your 9th grade student(s).
Please contact Ms. Jasmine Malloy, secretary – registration at 973-509-4133 (MHS) if you have any questions.
The district thanks you in advance for your compliance.
