Dear Renaissance Families/Caregivers and Staff:
It is my pleasure to announce that Mr. Edward E. Wilson was appointed principal of Renaissance School by the Montclair Board of Education at its meeting last night. Mr. Wilson will begin sometime in mid-September when his district releases him. Prior to his start, Mr. Bruce Dabney, a veteran, retired Montclair Administrator and Principal, will assume the position of Interim Principal at Renaissance, effective August 18.
As I know you are eager to get to know your new principal, I will share a few details with you. Mr. Wilson has known that a teaching career was in his future since high school and after college began as a history teacher in East Orange Public Schools. For the past four and half years he has been serving as an Assistant Principal and District Supervisor in the Teaneck Public Schools. As education is of primary importance to him, he is in the process of doctoral studies at Seton Hall University.
Mr. Wilson looks forward to building strong relationships with the Renaissance families, staff, and students and is eager to begin working with the entire Renaissance community. Please join me in congratulating him when he officially comes on board.
