The Early College Program is for seniors who are in good academic standing and who have met all graduation requirements but physical education and English. Students should have a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and a minimum SAT Critical Reading 540 and Mathematics 550 OR ACT English 24 and Mathematics 23.

You must get approval from your guidance counselor and each of your teachers.  Parents must sign the application form.  Classified students must have approval of their case manager.

You must take and pass a minimum of four courses.  You will take an English course, the College Success Seminar (a course required of all students attending a public college in New Jersey), a math support class (if you have below a 530 on the math section of the SAT) and other courses from a menu of business, arts, computer and liberal arts courses.  You must do a Career Internship in May and June.  You are responsible for providing your own transportation to and from Essex County College and for purchasing textbooks.
