Sports, Recreational and Interest Clubs

Each club and activity lists the name of the advisor(s), and, below the list, a brief description of the activity and meeting times when available. Students and/or staff interested in any of these activities should contact the advisor. BAD FILM CLUB

Meetings: Every other Thursdays

To view and analyze notoriously bad movies and discuss what make them so bad.

BADMINTON CLUB

Purpose is to have fun and stay fit.

BAKING CLUB

Advisor: J. Freeman

Purpose is to bake goods and have fun and to get to know each other and finally to raise money for charity.

BEATLES CLUB

Advisor: Mr. J. Mancinelli
Meetings: Every Wednesday in Room 319

This club will meet to appreciate, listen to, learn about, watch and discuss The Beatles.

BOOK CLUB

Advisor: Ms. S. Rembert
Meetings: Second Tuesday of every month in Room 313

Students will be assigned a book and once all memebers have read it, we will have a in depth analystical & productive discussion about the book.

DIGITAL DEVELOPERS (COMPUTER CLUB)

Advisor: S. Feinstein
Meetings: Every Tuesday

To collaboratively explore the different aspects of computers and computer science.

GO CLUB

Advisor: S. Greene
Meetings: Every Thursday

Where students can meet and learn to play the game.

 

 HIKING CLUB

Purpose is to get students involved in nature, and to get out and be active.

KNITTING CLUB

Knitting Club in which members will knit different clothing/accessory items, collect them and donate them to several different local shelters.

LIVE READ CLUB

Advisor: Ms. A. McLaughlin

To do live reads of classic movies and educate people about cinema.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Advisor: Mr. E. Altunkaya

Meals on Wheel will meet to people interested in cycling and participate in practice rides, and part and investigate organized rides for fellow bikers.

MTG CLUB

SMASH CLUB

Friendly and competitive fun for Super Smash Brothers video game.

SPORTS MANAGEMENT CLUB

The Sports Management Club will educate members about the business of the sports industry, as well as sports entrepreneurship and administration. We will achieve this through speaker presentations and lectures, from people who work in the sporting industry, as well as organized trips.

TOPSOCCER

Advisor: Ms. P. Cardillo
Meetings: Once a Month

TOPSoccer is a community based training program for young athletes with disabilities.  We give all children with any mental or physical disabilities an opportunity to play soccer and exercise.

YOGA CLUB

Advisor: Mrs. S. Stein, Ms. C. Franco

The Yoga Club is intended to educate club members on the basic philosophy and reasoning behind the practice of yoga. We want all club members to learn what ayurveda symbol they are best represented by. While participating in the physical practice of yoga we will learn the significance and purpose of each pose.
