Author and Montclair resident Christina Baker Kline speaks to students

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

As part of the Montclair Literary Festival being sponsored by Succeed2gether, the New York Times best-selling author and Montclair resident Christina Baker Kline talked to MHS students about how to succeed as a writer.  The lunch-time gathering happened this past January 18th.

To promote writing in the district, Succeed2gether is also running a short story contest as part of the Montclair Literary Festival March 31-April 1.  Three winners from each grade level at the high school will be awarded cash prizes and will be announced during the Festival.  To enter the contest contact Mr. Greg Woodruff gwoodruff@mpsdnj.us.

Succeed2gether, started in 2009 in response to budget cuts that adversely affect the disadvantaged and which many MHS students volunteer with, focuses on closing the opportunity gap and ultimately the achievement gap through after school tutoring, after school/weekend workshops, a spring beak Stay-cation Program, and Summer Enrichment Program.
