SVPA, the School of Visual and Performing Arts extracurricular program, mounts several shows each year in the Little Theater of the George Inness Annex, as well as offering many other informal arts events students can be involved in. Students interested in acting, technical theatre, and playing in the pit band will work with professional directors in all these areas and receive training and experience both onstage and backstage.
Rehearsals and tech activities happen after school. Any student can be part of SVPA and there are multiple opportunities to participate throughout the year. (A student participating in a sport or academic club during one season could choose to participate in SVPA in another season.)
The MHS Dance Company, directed by Kamille King, rehearses after school in the dance studio. Students can participate in both SVPA and Dance Company, with some limitations due to rehearsal conflicts.
