Montclair Public Schools’ community partner, the
Brother to Brother Mentoring Program, held its annual
Father’s Day Breakfast on June 14 at Montclair High School, marking 18 years of empowering young men in the community. Mentors and their students were on hand to celebrate their

accomplishments over the course of the past year, with mentees earning certificates.
In addition, Edgemont's Physical Education teacher Gerald Silvera was honored at the breakfast with Brother to Brother's Lonnie Brandon Community Service Award. Silvera recently retired from teaching after 33 years at Edgemont. Though officially retired, he is by no means slowing down and will continue coaching, spending time with his family, and being involved in the Montclair community. “He will be missed by staff, students, and the entire Edgemont Community,” said Principal Briony Carr-Clemente.
