INSIDE THE EAGLE’S NEST: BUZZ ALDRIN SCHOOL NEWSPAPER CLUB
An announcement from the Buzz Aldrin Eagle: Do you enjoy writing about the world around you? Would you like to inform the Buzz Aldrin community about topics that are of interest to middle schoolers? If you answered “yes” to both questions, then the school newspaper club is for you! The first club meeting of the year will occur on Monday, October 12th. Please send an email to Ms. Norat at knorat@montclair.k12.nj.us with your interest in order to receive a Google Classroom invitation. Here is a link to our school newspaper website for your viewing pleasure, https://sites.google.com/mpsdnj.us/thebuzzaldrineagle/home.

As highlighted by one former club member, “...the newspaper club experience has been incredible! Getting to be a part of a larger group effort has made me look forward to group work, instead of dreading it. Seeing our club grow from an idea to an established organization that has more “staff” then some local New Jersey newspapers and probably close to 100 articles published has been pretty cool and humbling.”
Advisor: Ms. Kristine Norat

START WITH HELLO – We are excited to continue “Start with Hello” this school year at Buzz. Thanks to your continued support, this program has been very successful and we are now beginning our fourth year of Start with Hello (SWH). This is a group that works together to promote a positive school culture by spreading kindness and positivity to make sure everyone feels included. We are currently looking for students who want to do just that. SWH will meet virtually after school every other Thursday and will include activities and opportunities for students throughout the school year. If students are interested in joining SWH, there was a Google Form emailed to their mpsdnj.us email account. We are offering community service hours for those who participate. We look forward to our students’ support and their great new ideas for our school!
Advisor: Ms. Jennifer Kosuda

POETRY CLUB – Poetry CafeĢ is back! Attention students! Do you enjoy writing with a poetic twist? Are you looking for a place to write, share and express your ideas? Then, the Poetry Club is the perfect place for you. To start the year, this club will meet virtually after school every other Thursday. This will be a space to write, discuss and share poetry and spoken word. There will be other related activities, such as “Open Mic” nights, throughout the year as well. If students are interested there was a Google Form emailed to them this week. During that time, interested students will be able to sign up. We can’t wait to hear our students’ amazing voices!
Advisor: Ms. Jennifer Kosuda

STAGE CREW – Do you love theatre and productions, but would rather work behind the scenes? Our Stage Crew students learn about (and become responsible for) controlling the sound and lights for all plays, assemblies, chorus, and band events in the auditorium. Our Stage Crew kids are the backbone of our productions! Returning members of our Stage Crew will be invited to regular “meet ups” soon. Sign-ups for new members will occur when we return to BAMS. Advisor: Brian Lacivita

We are still waiting on information about the possibility of our ROBOTICS CLUB starting up this year..... please stay tuned.
