Bradford Participates in Book Project

Bradford is participating in the "One School, One Book Project," where the entire school reads and discusses one book and participates in learning activities related to the book. Last year, the whole school community read Wings, by Christopher Myers.

This year’s book is The Whole Human Race, by Tim McFadden. “We are grateful to our wonderful PTA, who has once again generously funded the purchase of one book per family so families can read and discuss the book with their child(ren) at home,” said Principal Naomi Kirkman.

During the weeks of February 11 and 18, students will create their own artwork for the book and their artistic expressions will reflect their interpretations of the book’s important message of how in spite of our differences, we are all part of the human race.

"This unique project will spark discussions in classrooms about unity, acceptance and empathy, and later in the year a special edition with illustrations by our students will be available to purchase," said Kirkman. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go directly to the Bradford PTA.

McFadden will visit the school sometime in the spring to meet with students.
