To the accompaniment of police and fire engine sirens and cheers from more than 450 Bullock students and staff, 11 CHB students ran with local enforcement officers and officials on a three-block leg of the 34th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics in New Jersey on June 9.

The Bullock students began their run with the officers on Bloomfield Avenue at the Gates Avenue intersection and continued left on Elm Street and right down Washington Street directly in front of CHB. The students and staff lined Washington Street, cheering the runners on.

“Bullock is thrilled to again support this wonderful event that benefits Special Olympics in New Jersey,” said CHB Principal Nami Kuwabara. “We want to give a big shout out to Montclair Police Officer Paul Rusiniak, who facilitated Bullock’s participation this year.”

This was the third consecutive year CHB participated in the Torch Run, an annual statewide campaign coordinated and managed by all divisions of Law Enforcement officers and officials from throughout the state. This year, 19 local runs took place on June 9, covering about 750 miles.
