John Marshall, TV Meteorologist, shared his passion for weather with Charles H. Bullock School’s third graders during a virtual assembly on March 15. Marshall said he knew he wanted to be a weatherman since he was a 4th grader, and his enthusiasm for his vocation was infectious.

Students learned about the measurement tools meteorologists use for calculating and predicting weather, reasons for seasons, the water cycle, and severe weather phenomena, including tornadoes, hurricanes, and hail the size of baseballs.

Marshall also explained the television tools he uses, including the green screen, maps, and video enhancements.

Stephanie LaVail, a Bullock third grade teacher, praised the assembly: “Mr. Marshall’s fascinating presentation engaged the students via his questions throughout, providing a virtual interactive experience."
