In an effort to enhance communication with families and the community, Montclair Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of new social media handles and the creation of a mailing list aimed at keeping everyone informed about what’s happening within our schools. These new platforms are part of the district’s ongoing commitment to improve communication and transparency, in line with the district’s Strategic Plan.
The district is now active on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube, providing multiple ways for families, community members, and stakeholders to stay connected. These platforms will feature updates on district events, news, achievements, and resources available to families.
In addition, a new mailing list will be available for community members who do not have children in the district but wish to stay informed about school district activities and initiatives. This initiative reflects the district’s focus on ensuring all stakeholders have access to timely and accurate information.
“Improved communication is one of our top priorities as we work to better serve our families and the broader community,” said Damen G. Cooper, Interim Superintendent of Montclair Public Schools. “By embracing new communication tools like social media and expanding access to district information through our new mailing list, we are taking meaningful steps toward increasing transparency, trust, and engagement. These are just the first steps of a broader plan to strengthen our connections with the community, and we’re excited to continue building on this progress.”
These new communication tools support Goal Area #2 of the district's strategic plan, focusing on Community Engagement and Communication. As part of this goal, the district is committed to partnering with families and local organizations to provide valuable resources, support learners, and ensure all community members have access to accurate information.
