Seven Montclair High School students were selected as winners of The Newark and Suburban Architects’ Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) “The Holidays” art contest for students throughout North Jersey. To participate, students must create a drawing or a piece of art in any medium or submit a design of their own (line drawing, paint, 3D, collage or montage). The work must feature or have as a focus, a building, a group of buildings or a place defined by architecture and have a feeling, a setting or be inspired by an upcoming holiday.
Student submissions were reviewed by an esteemed panel of AIA Newark & Suburban member architects. The selected pieces reflect the students’ unique interpretations of the theme. "I'm so proud of all my students," said Architecture & Design Teacher Gary Rudoren.
Gold award winners: Fynn Coolican, Gabriel Bruggemann, Olivia Butler, Avery Dnistrian
