Members of the Montclair High School boys and girls winter track team have been invited to one of the biggest track and field meets in the nation. The VA Showcase, which will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, January 15-17, 2021 is a meet for the elite and every athlete by having both invitational and regular events.

MHS athletes have been hand-selected to compete in the invitational portion which has seen 10 national records, four under-20 world records and 71 U.S. #1 performances in just four years. “This is just a testament to the hard work these athletes have put in as they didn't finish their season last year because of COVID,” said Athletic Director PJ Scarpello. “They still managed to finish the season as State Sectional Champions, with all group honors, all state honors, run times ranked Top 25 in the nation and qualified for nationals, catching the eyes of the meet directors.”

The MHS athletes participating are:
Nathan Collins
Oscar Counsell
Reuven Frye
Anna Glorie
Rukiya Holland-Thomas
Kiya Lawson
Jessie Legister
Ella McAdams
Stephanie Webb
Truman Williams
