Northeast Elementary School, the District's global studies magnet, recently held its annual Global Fall Festival. Hundreds of Northeast families attended the celebration of diversity, culture and traditions. Parent coordinators Vera Scholl and Carla Buchanan organized the event which transformed the back of the school into a global field trip for participants. Spectators could take a short walk and experience foods from around the world and learn about the traditions that are special to each of those regions. Many attendees enjoyed face painting and carnival games, but the highlight was being treated to several crowd stopping cultural performances.
