Global Arts and Fashion Camp
Creating-Connecting-Caring
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
Ubuntu Kids Summer Camp provides an open makers studio environment for children grades K-8 to explore creativity as self-directed, interconnected learners.
Each week campers are introduced to Inspiration Stations featuring art forms from different cultures around the globe such as fashion, fiber arts, sculpture, clayware, architecture and more. After receiving tutorials on using the materials provided and learning various techniques, our young creatives are invited to choose what station(s) and project(s) they are most excited by.
Some learners may want to deep dive, while others may prefer to dabble and diversify. All ways are welcome, so long as FUN & EXPLORATION are the focus.
With the help of Creativity Mentors, students are supported through every stage of their creative process, from imaginative play and planning, to problem-solving, production and presentation.
In addition, Ubuntu Kids will have time each day to be in nature, cool off in the sprinkler, tend to the garden, play games/sports and have fun on the playground.
Ubuntu Kids should bring lunch, snacks, water bottle, wet wear/bathing suit, towel, a change of clothes (for the week) we will be enjoying water activities, closed toe shoes & sandals, sketchbook & any art supplies of their choice (various materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring preferred materials of their own to work with as well)
Joyfully,
Karma Cloud – Camp Director
