Please read all of the information below in order to begin the Registration process. which begins online. Required documents include birth certificate, proof of residency, and medical records. Once your online registration is complete, you will be asked to select a phone appointment to finalize the process.

If you are a new parent/guardian registering for the first time make sure you upload the required documents.

School Tours and Registration Schedule for School Year 2024-25 

Please note: Taking photos or videos of tours is strictly prohibited. 

In the event the District is closed due to inclement weather or other emergency, please know registration appointments are cancelled and we will get back to you upon our return to reschedule your appointment.

For New Students Entering the District

  • Registration applications need to be completed online.
  • During the online registration process you will be asked to choose an appointment time.
  • To complete your registration, you must upload all of the required documents and medical documents.

Online Registration Instructions

Links to detailed instructions for filling out the electronic documents for regular registration can be found below. Please read the instructions carefully before starting the online registration process. It is important you include all family contact information, at least two emergency contacts other than a parent, and your child's doctor, dentist, and hospital if you have one.

Student Transfers to New District

Parents moving out of Montclair to a new school district or remaining in Montclair and transferring to a private school must officially withdraw their child from school following the instructions below.

  • Log onto your Parent Access account.
  • Go to the Forms Tab.
  • Click on the form titled "Transfer Form - New District".
  • Fill out all required information. You must fill out 1 form for each child.
  • Download any records you may want from your account.
    • Report cards can be found in the Grading Tab under Available Report Cards.
    • Assessment scores can be found on the Assessment Tab.
  • Notify your child's school that you have requested a transfer.
  • The school will notify you when the transfer form has been processed.
  • Go back into your Parent Access account and download your A-41 transfer form.
  • Let your child's school know once you have obtained your transfer form which can be found on the Documents Tab.
  • Once we hear from you, your child will be officially withdrawn.

Change of Address Request

Parents moving to a new residence within the district must notify the district of their new residence and provide proof of residency for that address.

Please follow the instructions below to update your address.

  • Log onto your Parent Access account. 
  • Go to the Forms Tab.
  • Click on the form titled "Change of address request".
  • Complete all of the required information on the form.
  • Upload your 4 required proof of residency documents.
  • Access the residential requirements here.
  • If you have siblings in the district, only upload the documents for one.
  • Once your form is submitted someone from our registration department will contact you.
