ESEA Action Plans

Flexibility Waiver Request

The USDOE approved a waiver in November 2011 allowing the NJDOE to issue the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver Request which provides for differentiated recognition, accountability and supports to ensure continuous improvement in schools that did not meet their Progress targets, but are not classified as a Priority, Focus, or Reward school.

Four of our schools are in this category — Hillside, Mt. Hebron, Northeast, and Renaissance. These schools have developed Action Plans to focus their efforts in improving student achievement. The plans were shared at the Board meeting of March 18, 2013.  A copy of the presentation, school profiles,  and the Action Plans for each of the schools can br found below.
