Edgemont Montessori School students, families and staff participated in Bike to School Day on Wed. May 9. This annual event promotes the healthy benefits of bicycling and walking, to individuals and the environment. It was a perfect spring morning to arrive to school on bikes, scooters and on foot.
The Edgemont PTA had a table healthy snacks, water and a sign-in banner on the front lawn for students to sign as they arrived.
In the back of the school, gym teacher Gerald Silvera led a quick and fun exercise session. Principal Cheryl Hopper and several students joined in the festivities donning red noses in honor of “Paint Montclair Day,” a collaborative effort between the Montclair Public Schools, Montclair Township and the Montclair PTA Council in anticipation of national Red Nose Day on May 24. The Red Nose Day campaign is designed to bring people together to raise awareness and help end childhood poverty.
