Science teachers Lynn English and Kevin Sampson from Montclair High School and Tech teacher, Dan Gerdes from Mt. Hebron took STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) students to visit Makerbot Labs in Brooklyn, NY to learn more about 3D printing. Students met with marketing, sales and engineering groups to discuss current and future applications including biomedical and orthopedic components. The students that visited Makerbot today are the ones who will play a critical role in carrying this technology forward.
A STEM initiative was passed at the Board of Education meeting on November 16. The district will be purchasing more 3D printers that will be utilized in every school.
