Glenfield's physical education department participated in a challenge in conjunction with the American Heart Association on Friday, March 15. Yvonne Shannon, one of Glenfield’s physical education teachers, coordinated the event. The mission of the AHA is to improve the lives of all Americans by providing public health education and research.

The American Heart Challenge educates students on living a heart healthy lifestyle, inspires students to engage in the mission of the American Heart Association and allows them to experience fun physical activity at school. Students participated in the Heart Challenge during their Physical Education periods. In addition, students were encouraged to take part in daily challenges of exercising 60 minutes a day and learning hands-only CPR. Through pledges, Glenfield raised $500 for AHA.
