Last month, the Montclair YMCA offered Montclair’s elementary school students a chance to learn how to enjoy summer safely. Assemblies held throughout the district, hosted by the Y, taught students how to be safe in, on and around water. The assembly, pictured here at Edgemont, covered four topics: backyard pools, public pools, beaches and lakes, and water parks and included demonstrations. The course was led by the Y’s water safety advocates, Tammy Como, Association Aquatics Director; Anna Smith, Geyer Family Branch Aquatics Director; Rob Casale, School Age Child Care Senior Program Director; and Angelo Petullo, School Age Child Care Program Director.
