Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE) and the Montclair High School Guidance department have partnered to launch the second iteration of the award-winning Life After High School conference, January 11, 2020 in the George Innes Annex, 141 Park Street. The free event gives teens - and their parents - inspiration, support and advice for navigating high school and post-high school life with confidence, creativity, and resilience.
Life After High School aims to inspire teens and their caregivers to think about post-high school life broadly and to equip them with wisdom nuggets that will guide them through this turbulent and exciting time. Through activities and storytelling, dynamic workshop leaders with juicy life stories - and a knack for sharing them with teens - plant seeds of confidence, curiosity, and calm. They will lead sessions addressing topics like: Finding Your Passion, Designing Your Comeback When Life Throws You a Curveball, Being Okay with Not Knowing Your Plan, Developing Support Networks, and Life isn't Linear.

Teens can also explore "Try It!" workshops that teach them a new skill like mindfulness, financial literacy, and an interview boot camp. Parents experience a separate track of workshops that will focus on the emotional and mental health of their teen - and themselves.

Through an engaging panel discussion and sessions targeted at supporting the social and emotional needs of youth, the conference offers parents time to connect, commiserate, share some laughs and learn some tools.
“We are so excited to bring all of these people together for our teens and families,” said MFEE Executive Director Masiel Rodriguez-Vars. This event is generously supported by the Montclair Foundation.
Participants must register prior to the event and select their preferred workshops. See the
