On April 22, Hillside students brought in painted rocks (above) to decorate the front of the school by the sign, just to bring a little more to beauty to the world.

Even our young learners are conscious of the importance of saving the planet.

The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority recently held a contest for children to share ideas for the future of transportation, thinking of how to make it better for the environment. Both the winner and the runner up in the Under 8 Age Group are from Ms. D'Allegro's second grade class at Nishuane School. “We are so proud of Noah Akinymi and Milo Shneider who had such wonderful, innovative ideas for taking care of the Earth,” said Principal Jill McLaughlin.

Buzz Aldrin Middle School students celebrated in their science classes. They worked on an Earth Day choice board where they picked different activities such as going on a scavenger hunt, learning about all the plastic in the ocean, or doing a big clean up on their street or a local park! Students were also invited to participate in the Spring Earth Day Montclair Parks Clean Ups on Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25.
