Montclair celebrated its front-line workers as well as businesses that played a key role in seeing the community through the pandemic with a “Caravan for Heroes” through the township’s streets on July 3. The caravan, which replaced the traditional Independence Day parade and picnic for the second year in a row, traveled to the Wally Choice Center in Glenfield Park, where officials paid tribute to Dan Gill (pictured left, photo by Kate Albright for
Montclair Local), a Glenfield Middle School teacher for more 50 years who was selected as 2020’s parade grand marshal.
