Montclair Public Schools was awarded $75,000 to upgrade playgrounds through the state’s Local Recreation Improvement Grants program.
The District will use the funds to offset some of the costs associated with school bond referendum projects.
The competitive application process included an evaluation based on financial need, project feasibility, scope of impact and other criteria. The program aims to provide grants to communities in need to help strengthen and improve their recreational spaces and facilities without putting the burden on taxpayers.
