The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) and Advanced Placement (AP) results are in from 2022-23.
We are pleased to share that the overall student performance in ELA and Math has shown growth in almost all grade levels. Particularly, growth ranging from 2-15% in grades 4 – 9 was exhibited. The full NJSLA District presentation on the summary of results will be given at the Nov. 1 Board Meeting.
Additionally, 476 students took one or more AP exams last year. Eighty-seven percent of our students scored a three or higher on their exam(s) and twenty-five percent received a perfect score of five. According to College Board, Montclair High School has earned Bronze recognition on the 2023 AP School Honor Roll. The criteria to qualify for AP Honor Roll are based on College Culture (40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least one AP exam during high school), College Credit (25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a three or higher on at least one AP exam during high school), and College Optimization (2% or more of the graduating cohort took five or more AP exams during high school).
Congratulations to all students and teachers!
