Three Montclair High School students and two Buzz Aldrin Middle School students were selected as winners of The Newark and Suburban Architects’ Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) “The Holidays” art contest for students throughout North Jersey. Works submitted portrayed an architectural building, group of buildings or place defined by architecture which incorporated a holiday feeling or setting. Student submissions were reviewed by an esteemed panel of AIA Newark & Suburban member architects. The selected pieces reflect the students’ unique interpretations of the theme "The Holidays.”

AIA Newark and Suburban Architects will hold an art exhibition, "The Holidays," with an opening reception scheduled for February 10 from 1 to 3 pm at the Newark Public Library spotlighting the creative achievements of the student award recipients of the contest.

The exhibition highlights the organization’s commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression in our communities and making students aware of the importance of architecture and good design. Attendees at the opening reception will have the opportunity to engage with the artworks, meet the young artists, and witness the rich artistic tapestry of our local communities.
