This week, the district was closed in recognition of Diwali, the festival of lights. Prior to the holiday, the most anticipated and most celebrated festival of India, some of our schools participated in activities in honor of the occasion.

Bradford
A Bradford student's mother came into share a lesson on Diwali. She read a book, shared additional information and helped the class make two crafts: a "firecracker" ring and a paper diya, a lamp used to light up the Diwali celebration. The class wrote about something they learned at the end of the presentation.
