It finally felt like fall on Friday, Oct. 12 when Edgemont celebrated its annual Harvest Day.

“Harvest Day is an annual Montessori event that brings together students, families, and teachers for a celebration of learning, discovering, and working together as a community,” said Principal Cheryl Hopper.

The event is fully funded by the Edgemont PTA. “We are so thankful for the generosity and buoyant spirit of all the family volunteers and the PTA Harvest Day and Health and Wellness committee members that make this special day happen,” added Hopper.

Edgemont students created scarecrows in the “likeness” of their teachers, churned butter, popped corn, made curly fries, visited the animal petting farm, tasted apples, made soup, learned about composting and recycling, and grabbed a partner and learned how to square dance.

“There were so many happy, smiling faces!” exclaimed Hopper. “This is Edgemont at its finest.”
