Supervisor of World Language and ESL Dr. Vicky Chang commended the participants for their dedication while Marcos Vargas, Director of Humanities, K-12 (pictured below with participant) presented certificates of achievement to them and acknowledged the many people involved in putting this valuable initiative together, including the district bilingual para teachers, Lesly Chicoma, Emily Delacruz and Airence Diaz who assisted with childcare, Charles H. Bullock Principal Nami Kuwabara for hosting the event, and the generosity from Toni’s Kitchen for providing refreshments throughout the whole program. “I was fortunate to continue this great event since its inception in 2018,” said Chang. “It has been an inspiring experience to have met all the ESL families to witness their hard work and commitment. I congratulate our participants and encourage them to continue enhancing their English language experience. MPS is committed to support our ELL families and students.”

“Montclair Public Schools was once again pleased to extend this valuable opportunity for parents in our community to learn and practice English. We believe that by offering parents English instruction, we are better equipping them to be more active participants in their children’s education,” said Vargas. “This culminating activity celebrates those parents who sacrificed their time and exerted great effort in the hopes of acquiring the language and supporting their children. We are very grateful to the fine instructors who made this possible.”
