At the Sept. 23, 2019 Board of Education meeting, Montclair High School Principal Anthony Grosso (pictured below) gave a comprehensive update on facilities, curriculum, new initiatives and more.
In addition to giving the status on the staircase repairs, he touched upon the various administrative changes at the high school this year as well as new initiatives for lunch and security. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a series of “Mountie Talks” during their lunch period on a wide range of engaging, relevant, topics to teens. Grosso detailed the new double rotating drop schedule, saying students and staff have adapted well and are off to a great start. He highlighted good news that’s already happening in classrooms and around the school.
Director of School Counseling Dustin Bayer (pictured above) stepped up to the podium for a segment on “MHS 101,” a new social emotional learning program offered to 9th grade students. The program is designed to ease the transition to high school with lessons on topics such as Study Skills and Organization, and Mindfulness, to name a few.
