Glenfield Middle School participated in Play 60 with the American Heart Association and players of the New York Giants on November 27. Glenfield was selected due to the students' yearly fundraising efforts for the American Heart Association, which partners with the NFL Play 60 Challenge.  The 6th grade students interacted with the  Giants while participating in the Shuttle Run, Agility Ladder, Basketball Shoot, and Red Light game. These activities motivated and encouraged the students while reminding them of the importance of fitness through 60 minutes of active play daily. “It was a 'Kodak moment' watching the students having fun with the sports celebrities while engaging in active play,” said Glenfield Physical Education teacher Yvonne Shannon. Additionally, the school was presented with a check from Modell's Sporting Goods and Play 60 for $1,500. The donation will go towards purchasing more physical education equipment for the students.
